On International Women's Day, we at Ascertis Credit came together to celebrate the achievements and journeys of the incredible women around us.
Together, we started with exploring the concepts of Equality and Equity. Equity acknowledges that different groups, whether on account of gender, economic backgrounds, racial origin, or other differences, have historically faced different barriers and challenges. We may not always be fully aware of the different environments various people face or may have faced in reaching where they are today. Equity seeks to address these disparities through targeted support and resources, ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.
We were keen for our IWD celebrations to be inclusive and bring in all our team members across genders.
📖 We kicked off the celebrations by sharing personal stories of women who have deeply influenced our lives—mothers, mentors, friends, colleagues—each story was a testament to the profound impact of strong female figures in shaping who we are today. Everybody brought in pictures, and soon our pin-boards were alive with tales of strength, values, dedication and achievement from women all over. Team members shared professional experiences where they saw unique contributions from female employees, and their views on the strengths women bring to the workforce. Kudos to the team for sharing authentic experiences with everyone.
💌 Our male colleagues wrote generous notes of appreciation and encouragement for us. Little did they know that there were recipients too, of similar notes of appreciation from us. Through the notes, we discovered a poet amongst us, and several colleagues with a beautiful flair for writing. Finally, an engaging quiz on global leaders who have championed equality and equity left us inspired, reminding us how far we have come—and how much further we can go. The celebrations ended with small gifts from the firm for all the women in our lives – at work and at home!
